I woke up Monday morning with the drive and enthusiasm to take on 2017 with all my might. The alarm went off at 4:40am, I made it to FiA to workout with my home girls, back home to get ready for the day and even made it to work early!
I posted this picture to my Instagram account because I was TOTALLY feeling it!!!
(PS – I made this if anyone is interested in one, just let me know!) shameless plug! ha ha
I got to the office, ready to tackle all my projects and get them organized for the month. I was moving and grooving and getting stuff done…bring it on 2017, I got this!
I will say that I owe my renewed sense of self to a goal planning workbook that I spent time filling out last week. For anyone that is feeling overwhelmed, not sure where to start or where to go, I HIGHLY recommend downloading the Design your Destiny workbook from Kim at Sublime Reflection. I kept putting it off because I wasn’t ready to face my failures of 2016, and let’s face it, to move on and past something you have to face it and admit your failures. One of the things I feel like I struggled with the most in 2016 is determining my priorities, I had this huge issue with the FOMO (fear of missing out), it’s REAL y’all!!! The issue was it wasn’t the FOMO with my family, it was with my friends…WAKE UP SARAH…your kids are growing up before your eyes and you’re going to miss out on it!!!! I’m not sure why I felt like I had to say ‘yes’ to everything I was invited to or asked to last year, but I did it and boy oh boy did it WEAR.ME.OUT, not to mention my hubby wasn’t too thrilled and he felt left out and unappreciated. So as I sat down to reflect on 2016 and what I could do differently in 2017, I found my word for the year…PRIORITIZE.
My family is coming first this year, no matter what. I’m going to be intentional with the things that I do with my time, and I’m going to spend my time doing things to better my family and myself. There will be no negativity in our lives, no additional stress and no drama (well other than the fact that we currently have a three-nager in our house and EVERYTHING is dramatic).
If you haven’t had a chance to reflect on 2016 yet, I highly highly recommend it! It wasn’t easy, but it made me feel so much better and really helped me to move into 2017 ready to TAKE IT ON!!!!
