Oh how a girl can wish…ha ha!
I’m definitely no super-model in the making, but dang…Jennifer & Liz sure do know how to make a girl feel good!
A couple weeks ago I participated in my first ever professional photo shoot (well, other than the yearly family pictures…which let’s be for real…the girls are always the focal point there!) so I could finally get some good pictures up on this here blog! Liz Martin (The Charleston Weekender) and Jennifer Collins (Jennifer Collins Photography) offered up a mini shoot with our pups for a fundraiser with PetHelpers, so of course I had to do it!
For those that don’t know, the hubs and I rescued Dakota (Kota) 8 years ago (hold that….almost 9 years now!). We found her at a shelter in the mountains of North Carolina, she was covered in poop and scared to death…but we took her out of there and gave her the best home EVER!
Dang we look young….guess marriage and two kids will age you….ha ha!
Since SPJ and PKJ have come along, Kota definitely doesn’t get the attention she used to…so when I had the opportunity for some one-on-one time with her, I jumped at it!
We headed downtown to the Battery to meet up with some other bloggers and their pups. To say that it was a challenge to get a group shot is an understatement….we (the humans) couldn’t stop laughing while trying to wrangle the dogs to look at the camera…but Jennifer got the perfect shot….(please notice Kota right in the middle of the shot…yup she’s a camera hog!)
Now you’re probably wondering…what’s with the Weekender shirts? Well, let me tell you! The Holy City Chicks are raising money for PetHelpers and 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these shirts will go back to help the organization (and PS – they are the ONLY non-kill shelter in Charleston SC). Click here to purchase your shirt!
I also have to give a shout-out to Crew lala for dressing our pups in the swankiest collars and leashes for the shoot!
After we finished with the group shoot, I got to venture off with Jennifer and Liz for some fun shots! I’m not gonna lie…I was SUPER nervous, clueless as what to do…BUT…these two fabulous ladies encouraged me and made me enjoy it!
So needless to say I’m already looking forward to this months shoot (although it was decided that no pets again…it was HARD work!). It’s always exciting to see what collaborations Liz comes up with!
Oh and as we were walking around, we saw this sign and OF COURSE I had to stop to take a picture…because…well, yup…it’s my life in one sign!!!!
A huge THANKS again to Liz, Jennifer and Crew lala!!!
PS – Also have to give a shoutout to Simply J Boutique for the awesome jeans, sweater and necklace! (sweater is from Kerisma, jeans are Henry & Belle and necklace is Betsy Pittard)
